In spite of an assent for hostel facility for understudies having a place with economically backward class (EBC), the office has not come up in the city up until this point yet.
Understudies having a place with this classification who come to Pune for higher examinations have been thinking that its hard to track down convenience. The understudies have kept in touch with the advanced education office about the absence of facilities for EBC.
The Surajya Vidyarthi Sanghatna, an association of understudies, has been moving toward the training office with respect to the lodging office. Aman Ekad of the association stated, “Hundreds of students come to Pune for education every year. So many of them are from lower economic background. When they do not get into hostels, they have to sometimes leave the city and go back to their hometowns.”
The allure by the sanghatna has been sent to the local higher and specialized instruction division. It has requested that an inn of 1,000 limit with respect to young ladies and young men must be worked to help the understudies.
Ekad had documented a Right to Information request to the division with respect to the endorsed inns for Maharashtra in 2018. The managerial official Dhairyasheel Kardekar reacted to the RTI with districtwise activity of the inn consumption that had limit of 1,100 understudies 100 each in 11 regions.
Ekad said, “I have a copy of the notification that the state education department issued in 1973 for building hostels for EBC category students which has stated that hostels should be provided with free lodging and boarding to the students. The strength of these hostels will be 100 students and these should start functioning on the norms set for backward class hostels by the state government. This matter is pending since so many years now.”
In the notice gave in 1973, it was additionally expressed that a segment for superintendent, senior representative, junior agent, peon, house cleaner worker, guardian, sweeper, cook, low maintenance visiting clinical official. An authorization of Rs 60,000 was agreed per annum to per inn.
When reached overseer of higher and specialized training, Dhanraj Mane, stated, “The matter has been forwarded to the regional directors of the education department in Mumbai and Pune. They shall act upon it at the earliest.”
