The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) has completed the process of laying tracks on 7.5km Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation-Dapodi need stretch.
Authorities said establishment of the overhead footing link was in its last stages and would be finished inside a month. When that is finished, the Metro rakes will be worked till Dapodi on a preliminary premise.
MahaMetro authorities said two rakes have been mounted on the tracks close to the Sant Tukaramnagar station. “We simultaneously undertook the work of laying the tracks and installing the overhead cables. We expect to finish installing the cables by next month,” an official said.
An authority said that they have an extensive rundown of different specialized boundaries to be checked — the arrangement of the tracks, the slope, the bends and recognize specialized obstacles, assuming any. “Some of the other key factors to be checked include the stopping of the rakes at the stations, their speed at certain spots and the functioning of the overhead cable network,” the official added.
MahaMetro said the work was scheduled to complete a month ago, however the pandemic caused delays. “The work gathered pace a couple of months ago. We initially completed the viaduct near the Nashik Phata, which helped us speed up laying of the tracks,” the authority included.
Two stations on this course — Sant Tukaramnagar and Phugewadi — are being made operational in the main stage. The Sant Tukaramnagar station is relied upon to be prepared by one month from now; MahaMetro said it has conveyed most extreme labor to complete the work on a need premise.
This need stretch is important for PCMC-Swargate Metro hall. The stretch from PCMC to Range Hills is raised with nine stations on the way, while the Range Hills-Swargate segment will be underground, with five stations including Shivajinagar and Swagate. Work on the underground area is moving at a quick clasp. As of late, a passage exhausting machine finished burrowing a passage from College of Agriculture to the Civil Court in Shivajinagar. The excavatation had started in December a year ago.
MahaMetro is building up another need area — the 5km raised bit between Vanaz in Kothrud and Abasaheb Garware College in Deccan. This segment is essential for the other hallway coming up in Pune city — the Vanaz-Ramwadi raised line. Recently, TOI had detailed that a long forthcoming proposition to migrate 70 shops in the Mandai territory to clear a path for the underground Metro station work has picked up pace. The influenced shops — worked by organic product, vegetable merchants and merchants — would be proceeded onward a transitory premise to a close by area. The sellers would be restored back in the Mandai region once the work is finished.
