Single-screen owners won’t continue business until further notice in Pune

Notwithstanding the state government permitting film halls, multiplexes and auditoriums proprietors to return, single screen theater proprietors have chosen not to resume their premises unexpectedly early.

The state on Wednesday permitted film lobbies, show theaters, multiplexes, pools and yoga foundations outside control zones to resume from Thursday. According to the request, film lobbies, multiplexes and dramatization theaters will be permitted to work with 50% seating limit and no eatables will be permitted inside the premises.

Following the request, single screen film proprietors affiliation met and chose not to actualize the request until the administration offers betters SOPs (standard activity systems).

Sadanand Mohol, president, single screen theater proprietors affiliation and proprietor of Vaibhav theater in Hadapsar, stated, “Members of the single screen theatre owners association, Pune district have decided it is not possible to conduct any business given the restrictions. The reality is that there is nothing for single theatre owners. There are only 17 of 31 single theatres operational in Pune while Maharashtra has 520 single theatres operational out of 2,600 single theatres.”

As indicated by Mohol, thinking about the possible low crowd and incredulity regarding new movies, screenings, it has been chosen to stand by until the antibodies are accessible as a fix.

Dilip Nikam, single venue proprietor of Vijay Talkies, Kelkar road, stated, “We are not sure about patrons coming to theatre as film watching is luxury. Besides, there are no good movies for release, and the government has not given any time to be prepared.”

Then, Multiplex Owners Association has invited the choice. Arvind Chaphalkar, proprietor of Citypride Multiplexes in the city stated, “It will take another 15 – 20 days until we have the halls ready according to the standards and protocol asked for by the government.”
